The Mendi Group team of Mick Mullins & Duare Moses have completed construction of the 600mm dia. steel water main which extends 230m across Little Fletcher Bridge, which is an old Rail Bridge being used to support infrastructure and a future boardwalk. Installation of the water main included removing existing platforms and structures, rectifying parts of the bridge ahead of installation of new pipe works and bends. The new pipe was placed across the bridge by crane and welded in place , and at each end dives underground connecting up to existing pipes to complete a ring network of water main between the CBD and South Townsville. These works are being completed for the Townsville City Council as part of the North Queensland Stadium precinct roads and promenade project. The remediation works for the existing railway track bridge and the walkway bridge across the Ross Creek will improve the amenity and access for all members of the public.
