Palm Island Rodeo Grounds Sub divisional Works. A Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Multicultural Affairs (DATSIMA) funded Project.

The project comprised of 59 serviced lots, including retaining walls, road ways, services and stormwater drainage. The subdivision was required to overcome the overcrowding in the existing housing and the anticipated population growth on Palm Island.

The project was defined in two stages, Stage 1 consisted of the sites northern portion and included 32 serviced lots and approximately 500m of roadways. Stage 2 encompassed the site southern portion and included 27 serviced lots and approximately 750m of roadways.


  • Sort, move and place fill of 100,000m3
  • Open channel drainway
  • Bio Retention Basins
  • Utilisation of site Rock from existing stockpile for protection messures and manufacture of products including all road payment materials


  • Insitu Stabilisation of road Pavement
